Chapter One · The Corner Shop
A village keeps a bookshop the way it keeps a good neighbour.
Edgemont Village is the kind of place where the same faces pass the same windows every week, and 32 Books & Gallery is one of the windows they slow down for. It is a small, independent shop — books along one wall, art along another — the sort of room you wander into for one title and leave forty minutes later with three, a puzzle, and a card you didn’t know you needed.
What sets it apart from a chain is the hand behind the shelves. Someone here has read most of what’s on them, knows what the regulars are after, and curates accordingly — local authors beside the new releases, the staff-pick table front and centre. The result is a room that feels chosen, not stocked.
