The roastery
Republica is a Fraser Valley roaster and cafe working out of two counters — a roastery-and-cafe on Glover Rd in Fort Langley and a second counter on 176 St in Cloverdale. Wholesale beans for the cafes and kitchens down the road, retail bags and cups for the neighbours who walk in.
It all runs off one aging website today. These three concept directions are an unsolicited sketch of what a site that finally matched the coffee could look like.
The roast ledger
Every batch follows the same four marks — the same order, written down each time, the way a roaster keeps a ledger.
Raw, unroasted beans come in by the sack and rest until they're cupped and cleared for the drum.
Small batches go into the drum, watched by ear and colour until first crack and the development we want.
Beans rest off the heat, then get bagged for the shelf — dated, so you know exactly how fresh.
The same beans pull as espresso and pour over at both counters, and ship as wholesale down the valley.
What we roast & pour
A working list of what comes off the drum and over the counter. Items and details are placeholders we'd set with the owner before launch.
