Reddy Made Cakes is a from-scratch shop on Essendene Avenue, in the thick of Abbotsford. Crystal starts each cake the slow way — creaming butter and sugar, folding her own batter, whipping buttercream in small batches and stacking every tier herself.
Because each cake is made to order instead of pulled from a case, the bake book fills fast. The regulars figured it out long ago: call ahead, give it a couple of weeks, and the cake shows up better than anything off a shelf.
