From scratch, on Essendene

A small kitchen that makes everything itself.

Reddy Made Cakes is a from-scratch shop on Essendene Avenue, in the heart of Abbotsford. Crystal Reddy starts each cake the slow way — creaming butter and sugar, folding her own batter, whipping buttercream in small batches and filling, stacking and finishing every tier by hand.

Because each cake is made to order rather than pulled from a case, custom work books up quickly. Regulars have learned to call ahead: the demand for these cakes runs a little further ahead than the website ever could.
