A shop is just shelves. A co-op is fifty neighbours who fill them.
Since 2013, Giving Gifts & Company has run a little differently from the gift shops around it. Instead of buying stock wholesale, it gives shelf space to local artists — more than fifty of them — and arranges their work across five themed rooms you can wander through one at a time.
That's the whole idea, and it's the thing the current website doesn't tell: every card, mug, print and knit on these shelves was made by someone who lives nearby, and every purchase puts money back in their hands. This refresh concept is built to say exactly that — to walk a visitor through the rooms before they ever reach the door.
Every purchase supports a local artist. That sentence is the business.
