Fraser Valley Door Doctor
Dark wooden doors with hand-set hardware

A Fraser Valley door shop · Abbotsford → Hope

From Abbotsford,
all the way out to Hope.

Two people, a van, and every door in the valley hung the way it ought to hang. This is Salvador and Kristine's shop.

There's a sound a door makes when it's been set right — a soft, even thunk, no scrape, no rattle. Most people never notice it. Salvador notices nothing else.

Fraser Valley Door Doctor is two people. Salvador does the measuring, the cutting and the hanging; Kristine keeps the calls, the calendar and the follow-up moving. Between them they cover a long stretch of the valley — Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack, and as far east as the road runs toward Hope. There's no front desk and no call centre. The person who quotes the door is the person who hangs it.

The work is rarely glamorous. A patio slider that's started to drag. A front door that swelled one winter and never quite settled. A latch that needs two hands and a shoulder. The kind of thing a homeowner lives with for a year before they finally make the call — and then can't believe how quick it was to put right.

"A door should close like it means it. If it doesn't, it isn't finished."

Salvador's rule is repair before replace. A lot of doors don't need replacing at all — they need re-shimming, a new hinge, a fresh weather seal, a strike plate moved a quarter inch. He'll tell you which it is before any work starts, and he'll tell you straight. The valley's a small place; a reputation here is the whole business.

When a door does need replacing, it gets done properly — plumb, square, sealed against the wet valley winters, hardware adjusted until it swings clean and latches first try. Then the trim goes back like nothing was ever wrong. That's the finish line: not installed, finished.

Entry doors and patio sliders are most of the calendar — but the same trade covers the hardware that hangs them, the glass inside them and the weather seal around them. Fogged sealed units, sticking rollers, sagging hinges, drafty thresholds: all of it is the door shop's work, and most of it is a repair, not a replacement.

Salvador will come out, measure the opening and tell you what it really needs — repair or replace — before any work begins.
