There is a small room on King George Blvd where the machine doesn’t turn on until the drawing is right.
Bearcat Tattoo opened in 2020 and never tried to be more than one thing: a custom studio, one chair, one client at a time. No flash walls, no walk-in churn — just a conversation, a reference, and a drawing made for the person who’ll carry it.
For five years the work has come the same way. Someone walks in with an idea half-formed. It gets talked through, sketched, set aside, picked back up. By the time the needle moves, the design already belongs to them.
That patience is the whole studio. Black & grey that fades the way it should. Fine line that sits close and quiet. Cover-ups planned honestly across the sessions they actually need. It is unhurried on purpose — the room is yours for the afternoon.
What comes through the door
Soft gradients and a hard line — the studio’s home language, from portraits to the quiet single-word pieces.
Single-needle and delicate — botanicals, script, and the small first tattoos that sit close to the skin.
Bring a reference and a story; it’s drawn from scratch and refined together before the machine ever turns on.
Older work reimagined — honest about what’s possible, and planned across the sessions it needs.
